There have been stories done of the West, a beautiful place with nothing but grasslands and forests as far as you can see. Most of the stories are about Mustangs, wild and free and are written from the back of a horse. The truth is, no one has been able to experience the fear, adrenaline, the raw power we Mustangs feel when we live these lives. Many stories have been told, But now it's my turn to tell you the story of my life, from beginning to end, from the raw heart of a mustang. It's time to tell you of how it all began,....
I was born in a large herd, I remember it easily. It was a windy day in the grasslands of the wild west. The first thing I remember is I hit the soft grass. Immediately the neighing of other horses surrounded me. I opened my eyes, my vision was quite blurry. Shaking my head I looked around at the other horses. They were quite bigger then me but their expressions showed no threat only happiness....
The young foal looked around quickly at the other horses, their size seemed threatening but he turned his attention to the large mare laying beside him. A beautiful Red Bay mare, black mane and tail, lifted her head and looked down at him. The small foal looked up upon the mare and smiled, but the attempt was interrupted with an unexpected sneeze. He quickly recovered and smiled up at the mare, he knew as his mother. The mare was known as Delilah by the herd. The mare had four black socks. She leaned in and quickly nuzzled the small foal and he leaned in nuzzling back. His deep brown eyes followed her as she stood and shook her fur before walking away towards the deep grass. The foal , known as Falcon, looked at her once more before pushing himself off of the ground. His legs wobbled as he attempted to hold himself up. With a quick hop he threw himself at the mare. Hopping and skipping towards her he finally reached the bay and leaned against her back leg using it for support on his shaky legs. Quickly something caught his eye. The black tail of the mare, switching back and forth to rid herself of the annoying flies seemed quite interesting to the young Foal. He pushed himself off of her leg and hopped towards her rump.He turned to face the tail straight on, his eyes watching it's every move. He took a step back surprised at it's sudden movement. He watched it once more before a smile grew on his muzzle. He hopped towards it and leaned down on his front knees in a playful position, His rump in the air. His head switched from side to side as he watched it. Suddenly, he hopped at it, grabbing a mouthful of the black tail. The Mare's head shot up with a soft whinny as she turned her head around and looked at the small foal. She snorted softly grabbing the Foal's attention. He looked around her back legs, his mouth still full of black tail, and smiled. The mare whinnied to him softly, and he let the tail go hopping towards her head. He stopped below her head and reared up nuzzling her softly.

"The days passed quickly, I was growing more each day. I was like most other horse, I had the love for freedom, the keen senses, but I had something more. I had the love to run. I loved the wind in my mane, the ground speeding past me, the pure adrenaline. I soon grew into a large stallion. I loved to run and I had never met a horse faster then me. My life was perfect, but it turned for a new road one day..."
The young stallion nuzzled his mother as the moon took over the sky. He waited till she laid down to sleep before he stood on a small hill and looked over the herd. He wasn't lead stallion, but his friend was, so he kept watch when needed. He smiled as he looked over the herd, but the smile faded as the sound of music filled his ears. He looked over into the distance, and a small light caught his eye. Without thinking he left the herd and began his adventure towards the odd light. He galloped day and night before reaching the source. He walked down the rocky road that led through the large farm he had encountered. He slowly walked towards the large estate at the end of the road that was surrounded by pastures filled with horses. Most of them didn't pay attention to him but one female did. A thin feminine palomino mare trotted over to the edge of the fence and whinnied softly. Falcon paused and looked over at the mare, a curious look filling his eyes. `Who are you?` He asked quietly. `I am Lilly, and you are?` The palomino replied. `I am Falcon, stallion of the Wind Herd.` Lilly smiled softly, but it soon faded. `Wait,...stallion of the Wind Herd? So your a wild mustang? What are you doing here!? You need to go!` She whinnied. `Wait,...why? What is this place?` He asked. `This is a farm, and I do-` She was cut off as the porch light to the estate flickered on. Falcon gave her one curious look before trotting over towards the large house. Lilly followed beside him, on the other side of the fence. Falcon slowly stopped as he neared the house and as did Lilly. `Please, if you like being free, then go now` She begged but Falcon ignored the warnings and watched as a scruffy, farm looking gentlemen exited the house. He looked as though he had thrown on his jeans and shirt, and he had. He had a rope in hand and slowly approached Falcon. `I told you Joe, look at him. He is gorgeous!` The man said. `He is, I didn't believe you when you said a mustang was on your farm!` Another voice spoke up. Falcon turned his gaze behind him to a chunky man holding a rope. `Steady,..steady` The man on the porch slowly whispered to himself as Falcon was busy studying the chubby human. Falcon's ears perked at the whispers and as the human lunged at him The stallion reared up and landed heavily, jumping passed Joe. Within minutes the humans had two horses saddled up and were chasing after the stallion. Falcon smiled as he looked behind him at the approaching men. He was half way down the road that led to the house. He turned sharply and jumped the fence and entered a pasture. The humans skidded to a stop and turned their horses, `Come on, we can meet him half way` Joe said and directed his horse towards the other end of the pasture. Falcon smiled as the humans were no where in sight. He turned his gaze to the front and watched in horror as a rope flew over his neck and tightened. He felt the yank of the rope as he was pulled to a stop. He reared up and charged the human but another rope from the skinny man stopped him. He bucked and reared up, pawing the air. After much fighting, he was drug to a stall in the large barn beside the house. He was led inside and the door was closed behind him. As the humans left, voices came from the house and soon after 3 other people surrounded his stall. He backed up to the very back and watched as the three humans talked on and on about him. One was a large woman, beside her was two kids one boy and one girl. The boy soon lost interest and walked over to another horse. The mother watched from a distance, but the girl seemed to find the stallion every bit interesting. `Look at him mother, isn't he beautiful!? Look at his deep eyes. They are like gems! He smells of the fresh grass from the grasslands of the wild! Mother isn't he perfect!` The mother smiled and watched on silently. The girl slowly unlatched the stall door as the mother stood to go help the son with another horse. She slipped into the stall and slowly talked to the stallion. Falcon expected danger, and kept his rump pressed to the back of the stall. `You are so beautiful, look at your strong legs, your brown eyes, and your beautiful mane!` As the girl slowly walked towards the stallion, Falcon didn't move, but stayed still as the girl placed a small hand against the stallion's chest. Of course Falcon had bit any human who had ever touched him before this, but everything about this human was gentle. Her hand, her voice he was no threat.Falcon listened to the girl as the human slowly began to rub his neck. Ever so slowly, the girl gathered brushes and began to brush down the stallion. For some odd reason, Falcon felt safe around her. Falcon sat listening as the girl talked on and on about how the farm was a horse breeding farm where they bred racing horses. How one day Falcon, would be the fastest around. She also talked about how one day, She would ride Falcon in a race and they would win the Belmont stakes together. Falcon was sure the girl never stopped talking, but he loved it. Later, he found the girl's name was Emily. Emily brushed out all of the dirt from Falcon's fur until he shone. Finally the mother led the two children out of the barn and into the house leaving him alone for the night. (Writers block)
