IF YOU HAVE ANY IDEAS FOR CURES PLEASE PM ME AND I SHALL ADD IT HERE
In this I shall discuss what Writer's Block is...
AND HOW TO OVERCOME IT. Don't expect anything professional...
I'm a buttload more informal.
THIS IS STILL A WIP.
If you enjoy writing or have been roleplaying for some time, there is a big, juicy chance that you have experienced Writer's Block.
It is a plague and the people who have caught it are dropping like flies. (Yeah, just kidding) But let's get serious about this.
What we call 'Writer's Block' can be easily defined as that one time where you couldn't get your brain to work, or you just weren't inspired to write anything.
Let me just tell you something: Writer's Block CAN be overcome. Which is why I will list key ways to get over it, here:
This can work if you are roleplaying or just writing a story.
Step one is: Don't be so hard on yourself. If your brain is having a temporary spaz attack, don't worry. You can sit down and write complete garbage and it will still be okay.
Wanna know why?
That's what editing is for. Your post can a bunch of useless rambling about the plot and characters at this point, heck, close your eyes and slam your hands on the keyboard for all I care. No one is expecting you to spew Shakespeare, (though that would be pretty cool) its okay to set your standards low.
Step Two is to, obviously, edit. This is more for stories, which are longer than roleplay posts (and are more likely to get criticized
)
Clear up all the useless stuff. Add more detail. Trust me, the more description the easier it is to fill up a paragraph. I go by this rule of thumb.
Behold, the five senses except hyped up on supar gaz.
EYESORE= Sight
STINKS= Smell
SCRRREEEEEEECH= Hearing
TONGUES= Taste
PAAAAAAAAAIIIIINNNNN= Touch/feelings/thoughts
You catch my drift right? If you spread these out through your post, you can easily make it longer and well-described. On to cure #2!
