((Spice went home with Jen. He didn't notice Cream))
Impulse turned grudgingly toward Dusk, her tail rising. She scowled, "I haven't had a broken bone in centuries!" Of course, she was lying, or at least in denial. The last time she had broken a bone it was two months ago, her front leg cracked by some waiter that was taking out the trash. He had batted at her with a lengthy broom stick.
She looked down at her aching ribs, then stood up with a sigh. Impulse looked at Echo, then to Dusk who was slowly walking away. "Where d'you think you're going? We're going to the same place arent we?" She said, padding up beside him, wherever he was going. Impulse looked back at Echo, every few moments or so she would pause from a sudden twitch in her a rib cage. "I think I'll be fine. Let's get back to the 'ol junkyard." ____________________________________________________
Cream sat perched on a fence, her tail swishing lazily behind her. She wondered what had gotten into her lately, just a few days ago she wouldn't dare have the guts to venture into the open world, yet know, here she was, loitering around like any stray. The cat sighed, wondering what to do know. She didn't feel like wandering back home, though she should probably head back soon as the sun was slowly setting. Her ear twitched as someone called out farther down the fence, "Little cream friend!" The voice was familiar, and she recognized it as the ginger-cat that had offered to show her the ropes of the streets... Cream stood up and walked gracefully down the narrow fence like a balancing act on a tight rope. She stopped near the cat with the flame-like pelt and tilted her head. Cream had forgotten the cat's name, or she had not introduced herself previously. "Uh... You can call me Cream, y'know..." She said softly, "And you are?"

Dusk rolled his eyes and walked on ignoring Impulse's comment. Though he paused as she walked up beside him. He looked her over before turning and walking once again, keeping his head low and his mind busy. Though the small pauses Impulse would take, seemed to keep his attention. He finally stopped and looked at her. "Are you sure you can make it?" He whispered. His voice was soft and even seemed a bit worried.

-Echo nodded and padded alongside Impulse at her rate. She didn't want to go too fast in case it would just shoot more sharp pains through her friend's body.- "Just let me know if you need to stop." -She murmured.-
-Ember smiled and sat down on the fence top.- "Oh yes, Cream dear. My name is Ember. Why are you so close to the dog park might I ask?" -She looked around and saw none of the others.- "Did they abandon you here for those fleabags to get you?" -She pointed towards the dogs in the park with her forepaw before drawing it up and rasping her tongue over it.-

Impulse closed one eye, a small sound akin to a whimper but much shorter slipping out of her maw. She paused for a second, looking shifty-eyed at her two friends, who both seemed worried about her. "I told you, I'm fine." She said in a light voice, smiling a genuine smile, not the usual smirk or sneer, which was rare. Maybe the mutt was just trying to get them off her tail, or trying not to let them waste their worry on her. One thing that Impulse disliked on top of many, many other things was when someone looked down on her as helpless. Once the trio arrived at the junkyard, Impulse yawned and lowered her head sleepily. "I don't feel so good..." She muttered, padding slowly to her makeshift den, her ribs aching. _______________________________________________
Cream's ears drooped in doubt. She sat down near Ember and tilted her head, "Y-You really think that's what they did...?" She sniffled before shaking her head, "...Uh, no, I decided to stay on my own choice." Cream inwardly winced at the voice inside her head that whispered 'bad idea'. Staying at a dog park was not exactly a regular cat's idea of a good time. She looked at Ember, "I guess I'm not that smart, huh..." Her ears perked abruptly, "Didn't you say earlier that you could teach me a few things? How about it?"

Dusk stopped and watched as Impulse and Echo walked into the junkyard. Dusk's head was down and his ears were back. He didn't feel at all like he did when he was a pup. Flash backs filled his mind, him and Impulse playing around in the junkyard, him and Echo stealing food. The three had grown apart, or more like he had grown away from them. He missed it, and he wanted it back.

-Echo nodded and helped Impulse to the 'den.' She sighed and plopped down on the outside of it.- "Bruce! Your turn to get food." -She barked.-
-Ember shrugged.- "Never be too careful around dogs. They act like they're helping and the next thing you know, well, you know." -The she-cat shook her head.- "Oh no darling. You're not stupid, your just a pet. Pets don't understand life on the streets. And of course, the offer is still here. Come, come. Follow me." -The flame-pelted tabby led the way along the fence top.- "I hope you like fish." -She meowed as she squeezed through the fence and padded over to the goldfish pond. She pointed with her paw towards the fish.- "Best fish in town."

Low grumbles and mumbles echoed out of a make-shift den made out of tires and metal scraps. They got louder and soon stopped as a muscley and thick german shepard exited the den. It was Bruce, and he looked tired. "Of course, It's always my turn when I am asleep, but when I am willing to do it, I can't" He growled to himself slowly walking towards the gate to the junkyard. He shook his head and barked twice before trash began to fall from the mounds around him. Two more dogs jumped down from the mounds and joined him. Bruce sped up and took off out of the junkyard, the two dogs following behind. As he ran out of the junkyard he ran into Dusk, bumping into him and sending him to the ground. Bruce didn't even stop but yelled "Watch it!". Dusk lifted him self to a sitting position and looked down at the ground.

-Echo muttered to herself.- "Not my problem." -She watched the German Shepherd leave and knock Dusk down. Echo stood up and walked over to Dusk before sitting down and looking awkwardly around.- "You ok?"

Dusk gave a shocked side-glance to the dog before looking back down. "Um..yeah I am fine" He said looking back up at her. "Thanks.." He shook his fur out and stood. "You better go check on Impulse.." He said.

Impulse gave an amused look at the bulky german shephard as he sauntered out of the junkyard with to dogs at his flank. She caught his loud grumblings and barked back with a crooked smile, "That's because you're always sleeping, ya half-brain!" She scrambled back into her den and yawned, nudging a sharp metal cylinder away with her paw and curling up, which sent pain through her rib cage. She winced and changed positions, this time lying on her side. Better. Unable to sleep, she watched as the dogs outside chased their tails and bathed in the sun. __________________________________________________
"Never be too careful around dogs. They act like they're helping and the next thing you know, well, you know." Ember had said, and it was still bothering the timid cat as they made their way down the narrow fence and down into one backyard. She was curious as to what really happened next, but wary that she didn't really want to know... Cream's warm brown eyes stared into the sparkling gold-fish pond, squealing and flinging herself back when a golden fsh tail broke through the surface, sending ripples through the once peaceful water. She looked up at Ember, embarrassed. "It's a little different from... The uh, kibbles... They feed me..."She said, staring down into the water as the fish swished around. Cream stretched out a paw as a fish came close enough to the shore, but it darted away at the sight of her shadow. She sighed, her ear twitching, irritated now.

The sound of talking caught Dawn's ears as she walked along the top of the fence surrounding a back yard. She glanced down, her eyes locking on a familiar cream cat. "Cream," She said happily hopping down and trotting over to the pond. The fish shied away and swam to the other side before warily making their way around the pond once more. She sat at the opposite side of the pond then the two cats, her eyes gazing at both of them. "What are you two doing here?"

-Echo nodded.- "No problem." -She looked back to where Impulse lay.- "Uh, yeah." -She stood up and walked slowly back to Impulse.- "Anything you want me to get?" -She huffed as she plopped down on the ground.-
-Ember looked around, expecting to see the dogs.- "They're not here? Good." -She turned back and looked at Dawn.- "I'm just about to show Cream here how to catch a fish." -She waited until a lone fish swam back over to the other side, avoiding Dawn's shadow. Ember reached out a paw, carefully not to make a sudden movement. With one quick movement, the she-cat scooped the fish out of the water and onto the bank.- "There you go." -She batted the fish down with a paw with much force and when she raised her paw, the fish was motionless.-

Cream's ears shot back as Ember brought her paw down, killing the fish with one fatal blow. "Uh..." She looked back down into the pond, glancing at Dawn before raising one paw. A fish drifted near her side of the shore and just as it's tail skimmed the surface, she swiped the water. It felt slimy on her fur and...
OH GOD IT WAS MOVING. Cream squeaked and thrust the fish onto the water and watched with wide-eyes as it's mouth opened and closed, flailed around on the grass trying to get back into the pond. She mustered up her courage and striked it with a paw. It lay motionless. "W-Was that good?" _________________________________________________
Impulse looked at Echo as the stray plopped down on the ground near her. Her floppy ears perked. "I'm fine for now..." Her gaze trailed off to the entrance, she furrowed her brow a bit. "Is it me or has Dusk been acting weird lately...?" She caught herself sounding worried and added, "I mean, weirder than he already is."

(oh that's mean! "has dusk been acting weird lately,..i mean weirder then usual?" haha!!(:**
Dawn smiled and watched as Cream did a fantastic instant kill on the fish. "I like it the old fashion way" Dawn smiled and stood. She took a few steps back before leaping forward, plopping into the crystal clear, and icy cold pond. Her blurry image seemed to swim right to the surface. Her orange, and soggy head popped up over the surface, a large black and orange carp in her mouth. Blood trickled down it's sides as it lay motionless in her mouth. She swam towards the edge and climbed out. The hot air warming her instantly, the cold water dripping down her fur cooled her off on the hot day. She shook her fur out and laid the carp down softly. "Plus it is way more fun" She smiled. Her icy blue eyes studied the two cats.
Dusk sat at the edge if the junkyard, watching as distant people walked by, sending him odd glances every once in a while. He sighed and turned his gaze up to the blue sky. It was clear other then a few odd ball white clouds floating lazily through the sky. Spring was coming up, and Dusk would soon make his way to the rolling hills of freedom on the outside of town, where he would spend most of his day, even try hunting a few deer or rabbits, before returning to the junkyard. He sniffed the clear, crisp air, the mouth-watering scent of hot dogs and hamburgers wafting into his nose.

((Ember's death glare reaction.)) ![](http://th01.deviantart.com/fs17/300W/i/2007/218/3/f/Pierrot_The_Clown__by_visual_sick.jpg) -Ember shot a glare at Dawn as the water splashed out of the pond and onto her. She flicked an ear, the only movement for a couple of seconds. The she-cat looked over at Cream.- "I wouldn't recommend that in winter." -She looked down at the fish that Cream had caught.- "Very good." -She looked at Dawn and forced a smile on her face.- "I like my way better." -Echo flicked an ear and looked at the husky.- "It's not just you. He seems to be all glum all the time. Maybe because of Bruce. He needs to back off." -She barked and looked at the sky.-

Dawn sent a snoody smile at Ember and said "That's your opinion dear" with a sarcastic voice. Her and Ember, seemed to get along fine like playfully hateful sisters though they rarely talked.

Cream looked from the dripping Dawn to the irked Ember and found herself smiling a bit. The two ginger cats could pass of as quarreling twins, the only differences were Ember's reddish-brown eyes and Dawn's fluffy white underside and clear teal eyes. The cream feline's tail swished as a way to defuse the fight, "I thin both ways are helpful. You swim when its hot outside and use your paws when its cold." She nodded to herself, pleased at what she had learned in a day. Cream looked around the three cats, each with a goldfish in front of them, "Shall we feast?" She bent down and started taking apart the fish, the savory flesh making her mouth water. The pet had only tasted fish from a can before, and she had to admit, through all of the scales, slime, and miniscule bones that canned food did not have, it did feel alot more rewarding to have caught it herself. She savored the meal. ________________________________________________
Impulse smirked rolled onto her back, her long legs touching the ceiling of her impromptu den and lifting the wooden plank up, letting light spill in from the slits it made. "I guess, huh?" She was silent for a moment, thinking to herself. No one is just sad for no reason... D*mn it, why am I even bothering myself with this? Abruptly, she laid back down on her belly, causing her head to bump on the celing. Impulse growled, about to curse when a loud beeping sound gradually got closer and closer. She sent a questioning look at Echo before crawling out in time to see the large green monster with wheels lurch into the Junkyard. Strays skittered around the truck barking like mad, and only stopping when it dumped a load of garbage into the piles of junk gathering in the place. Impulse craned her head to see the dogs crowding around the new pile of stuff and wondered what they would find this time. Usually there was something worth keeping or salvaging from whatever the green dinosaur left. The mutt stood up, "You wanna go check out whats left, Echo?"

Dawn smiled softly and leaned down, tearing into the fish gently. She savored each bite of the soft meat and sighed.
Dusk had slowly made his way to the pile and sniffed around it's edges. Slowly he began to climb it, looking for hidden treasures.

-Ember opened her mouth to protest, but Cream spoke before she did. She sighed and crouched down, then gulped the goldfish down. She licked her lips an at up when she had finished.- "And the best part about this is the humans put more in it when it's empty."
-Echo shoved her ears forward and jumped to her feet.- "C'mon." -The mutt padded over to the pile and began digging. A few moments later, Echo raised her head and she held a large bone.- "Jackpot!"

Impulse smiled brightly at Echo, "Awesome, lemme look..." She swiped a few items away from the pile of junk and emerged with a few chicken bones and half rotting steak. She tilted her head and turned to face Dusk, "Find anything?" She called. ___________________________________ After Cream had finished her meal, she lifted her head and looked up at the sky. Sun was slowly setting, casting long, dark shadows over everything around. She looked to the others, "It was nice hanging out with you today, but I better get going..." She flashed one last smile and hopped up onto the fence, flicking her tail, "See ya."

-Echo exchanged a glance with Impulse before walking over to Dusk. She put the bone on the ground and shoved it towards him with one paw.- "Here. I can get another."
-Ember flicked her tail as if waving.- "See ya later." -The ginger she-cat looked at Dawn and meowed.- "So, d'you ditch the dogs?"

Dusk slowly looked up at the stray with confused eyes. '..really?' He asked glancing down at the bone.

-Echo nodded.- "Of course." -She pushed it further to him and backed up a few steps.-
"Bye." -Ember meowed and squeezed through the fence and padded towards the nearest building. The ginger she-cat walked down the alley and slipped in a cardboard box. She stretched her limbs and yawned before curling up and falling asleep.-

Dusk stood dumbfounded for a few silent moments before reaching down and grabbing the bone. With a bone crunching bite, he broke the bone in half and dropped it before nudging half towards Echo with a smile.
