(Suree!!))
Valor's paws crunched the twigs below on the forest floor. "Kali,...just stop." He barked, pulling the girl to a stop. "What." Kali growled. "Things will get better...I promise." He replied, his tail rubbing hers as it entwined. They had walked close to the river, as Valor leaned in to nuzzle Kali.
Without warning something shoved syke off of the rivers edge. Standing back, the attackerĀ revealed himself. Tiber. A twisted smile on his face. "You shouldn't turn your back on an enemy.." he smirked.
Kali pulled away from Valor, "what are you doing.." she barked.

Syke spun around and managed to grab the ledge with his paws. His hind legs kicked feverishly at the cliff, trying to push himself back up. He looked up and snarled, "Tiber." The red wolf's bright yellow eyes flashed and he snapped at Tiber, but he only resulted in losing his footing. One paw started to slip from the edge. "You can't hurt me anymore," he growled, but knew in his heart that he still lived Kali. She could tell him that she'd rather go with Tiber than him and he'd still live her. Kali's voice caused him to look around and the dream came flooding into his mind. "Tiber, don't let her see me. Just kill me now. Before she sees." His eyes pleaded. He knew he was going to die. In fact, he welcomed it, but he did not want Kali to see him fall to his death at the paws of their foe. 'Valor, protect her,' he thought silently. 'Love her and never let her leave your side.'

"Sorry, pup." growled, "No can do." He smirked, leaning backwards to call Kali's name. "Don't think about it." Kali stood right behind Tiber. Tiber hesitated before swiping at Sykes paw, hoping to push him off the cliff.

Syke's yellow eyes locked onto Kali's before Tiber pushed his paws. Syke pawed at the cliff, but he slipped and fell. The fall seemed to take forever, he glanced down at the water, then back up at Kali. He took a deep breath just before he plunged into the rushing water. He was tugged even deeper in the water, twirled around, but he opened his eyes and pushed off of the bottom. When he surfaced, he gasped for air and looked towards the waterfall. He tried to decide which way would be less painful, the fall or drowning. A deep, guttural howl echoed throughout the canyon as he was forced over the waterfall.

Kali let a shrivel whine out, lunging at the edge but she was to late. She gazed down, watching as Syke floated down the river, thrashing around as the waves consumed him

Sienna, Skylar, and Aspen jumped to their feet at the sound of Kali's cry. They sped through the forest quickly, only to stop at the edge of the cliff. They followed Kali's gaze just in time to see a red spot go over the waterfall. Sienna pinned her ears back and howled. She glanced past Tiber, not seeming to notice him and ran down the hill, "We've got to help him!"
Syke tumbled in the air, only managing to catch his breath before being catapulted back into the water. As he hit, sharp rocks slashed at him, cutting over his right eye, luckily, though, his eyeball wasn't damaged, and another rock cut deep at his jaw, trailing down and stopping at his front shoulder. Wincing in pain, he barely was able to pull himself out of the water. He couldn't put any pressure on back left leg, and his entire body ached from the fall. He laid in the edge of the water in a secluded area, waiting for the blood to stop pouring from his wounds. The waterfall fell in front of him, mist making it to where no one could see him from the other side. That's how it would be. His body had gotten snagged in between the rocks at the bottom of the waterfall, never to be seen again.
As soon as the bleeding stopped, Syke pulled himself the rest of the way out of the water and through the underbrush of the forest. Not once did he look back. Tiber had thought that he had gotten revenge. He should not mess with Kali any longer. If he did, Syke would come back and lead the vile heathen away, possibly killing him, in hopes of protecting his love. He limped along, barely on only two paws. The front leg with the cut in his shoulder would cause him to bleed if he put any weight on it, but he slowly but surely made his way out of earshot of the waterfall, to where the crashing water became only a distant hum.
((None of the others saw him escape. They think he's dead.))

Valor had disappeared over the hill with the others, leaving Kali to fearful and shocked to move. "Kali.." valor muttered approaching her with the rest, he shook his head.

Skylar sat at the edge of the cliff, looking down over the waterfall. She glanced back at Valor and Kali and silently warned Valor to steer clear in case Kali exploded. She signaled for Sienna and Aspen to sit by her and she muttered quietly, "How do you think she will take it?"
Sienna shook her head, "They were close before. There's no telling." She let a tear roll down her face, "I remember when we were just pups. He was always the fighter, the one who would always rescue the dark from the light and never back down. What happened?" She shook her head and stood. She raised her muzzle to the sky and let a long, mournful howl ring out. Skylar and Aspen joined in on the goodbye song.
Syke perked his ears and sighed. He hated to lie to them. But it was best for all of them. He hurt Kali when he was near her. She hurt him. They'd be better off.

Valor joined in with the howls. And to their surprise, Kali's soft howl synchronized to their howls, echoing through the forest with a sad tune. Kali lowered her muzzle, standing. "Let's get moving."

Sienna stepped forward, looked back at the waterfall, then back to Kali, "Kali, what happened?"
((Sorry. Shortness.))

((My other one is super short.))
Kali walked forward, silently into the forest. Valor sent a worried glance towards Sienna before following after her, his ears pinned back. Kali stayed silent, her lungs struggling to work through the silent sobbing she weaped as they walked.

Sienna shook her head. "Poor Syke. Is there any way he could have lived? He's strong. He's a fighter right?" A tear ran down her face and she sighed deeply.
Skylar nudged Sienna and silently told her to quieten down. "We'll get Tiber," she mumbled lowly. Though she didn't much care for Syke, she didn't like seeing her friends being in a glum mood.

"Stop following me."
The words pulled Valor to a stop, and with a sudden sense of reality, he furrowed his brow. "Stop following you?" Kali, too, had stopped, glancing back at no one in particular with a sense of gloom and retreat. "I need to be alone." Valor's ears pinned back in confusion, "You promised to lead us. Some of us left a pack for you, and you're going to leave us to fend for ourselves? Kali, you need us now more than ever-"
"I don't need a pack, I don't need backup, and I sure as hell don't need you!" Kali's body language intensified as she turned on her paws to face the male, who raised his chin in defense. Her gaze, now locked with his, was pure hatred and heartbreak, and with a final snort, her body relaxed, and with the same sense of defeat, she turned and began dragging her paws through the underbrush as the darkened sky released a wave of thin rain to dampen the air.

The trio of wolves walked up to Valor's side. They watched as Kali left. Sienna sighed, "I should have just stayed in the pack." She turned away and walked back towards her old pack, "See you guys later."
Aspen watched as the two wolves left. "Skylar. You don't want to go back, do you?"
Skylar shook her head, "You know the answer to that, Aspen. The pack would not welcome me back. They've wanted me to leave ever since..." she trailed off and dropped her ears. "No, I'd like to stay away from the pack."
"Then I'm here with you," Aspen gave her a comforting nuzzle and looked at Valor. "What about you?"

Valor's ears grew heavy with regret. Not just from his decision to follow Kali, but his decision to remain loyal to such an ignorant idea. As the other's questioned their decisions, he remained silent, his eyes glued to the leaves that shuffled back into place once Kali pushed past them. "I have no pack now." He replied quietly, his once sad gaze now filled with betrayal and hatred. "Let's go. We have a wolf to track down." Tiber was the one thing in the world, remaining that stood between the small group and freedom. Freedom from denial of a pack, freedom from past memories, just freedom. And with an angry gaze and a short snort, he pushed past the two remaining wolves and back towards the waterfall.

Aspen sighed, his eyes glancing over at Skylar. He waited for her to start following Valor before he did. "Any plan on how we're gonna take care of him?"
Syke had to get farther away. Knowing them, they'd split, and he was afraid they'd run across him. The river would slow them down if they wanted to get across. Slowly, Syke forced himself to stand. Wincing in pain, he took slow steps, and his wounds throbbed with each one. He forced himself to think of other things. Where he'd go, if he'd find a new pack. Probably not. Syke wasn't the type to run from pack to pack. He sighed, yellow eyes staring confidently ahead of him. In front was his future, a life where no one would know him, a life where he did not have to worry about others. Behind him, his family, his friends, his enemy, and his terrible past.
