"Go! Go! Go!" The all too familiar words enter your ears just as the first shot rang out. You turn just in time to have blood spattered in your face and you see an old friend go down. Pups and elders are howling for help. Will you choose to help them? Or is it survival of the fittest in your neck of the woods? ______________________________________________________ ~Alphas~ Name: Akila Gender: Female Age: 4 years old Rank: Alpha Female Personality: Akila is a very kind and caring she-wolf. A tough past has made her strong, but that doesn't mean she doesn't break down sometimes. She has her times when she might snap, but overall, she is a natural-born leader. The death of her pups and mate has left her more independent, and it will take quite a lot to open back up to another male. She is a rather large wolf, larger than any female in the pack, and even some males. History: She was Female Beta when her Alphess died, so she took over as Alphess. A young male named Nitro fought the Alpha and took over Alpha role, becoming Akila's mate. They had a litter of pups, but none survived after a horrid raid from humans. Nitro died trying to save the last pup. Akila was mere inches away when he died, forced to watch her beloved fall to the ground and never get up again. Picture: Name: Soldado (Spanish for Soldier) Gender: Male Age: 2 and a half Rank: Lead Hunter History: He was born in the pack and raised by his father after his mother passed during his birth. He became one of the best warriors and soon became alpha warrior. Pelt Color:Charcoal Eye Color:Gold Personality: He is a rather reserved wolf, his temper is usually calm and collected though when his anger rises, he tends to take care of the problem easily. He is larger then most wolves and he only fights when necessary. His protectiveness of the ones he cares for is far greater then any he has ever encountered. He has an instinct to help, and never leaves a wolf behind. His senses are very keen and he likes peace more then war. Though, that doesn't mean he doesn't like a little bloodshed on the side. His own personal Motto is "Live or Die with Honor"

((Accepted, but is he lead hunter or warrior? I shall begin.)) 3 1/2 Years Earlier~
"Go! Go! Go!" The male's familiar voice ordered. The small white pup stumbled around in confusion before the same male's voice sounded again. "Keely! Take Akila and run!" The white pup wheeled around just as her mother, a larger white wolf, snatched her up and sprinted through the woods. Akila looked back just as her father, the owner of the orders, collapsed to the ground.
Day after day passed, and Akila's hunger grew, but she knew from past times not to complain. She knew that once they had traveled far enough, the survivors will thrive again. When they finally settled down again, 7 days since the attack had passed. The remaining wolves had just brought in a deer. As Akila stuffed her belly, she listened to her mother mourn for her mate. The white she-pup padded over to her mother and buried her face into Keely's fur. "Mama, it's okay. He is safe now." Her words dug deep into the hearts of the wolves and all of them joined the mourning. The pack lost their alpha that day, but Talon would live in the hearts of each one of them.
2 Years Later~
The white she-wolf squeezed out of the den just as light touched the sky. Akila was now 2 1/2 years old. Her mother had joined Talon and Akila had just been promoted to Beta Female. But as if the usual routine sounded, the words sounded. "Hunters! Go! Go! Go!" Akila skirted the back of the pack, herding them through a creek and towards the valley. She leaped over the wolves who dropped as they ran, but somehow, a bullet never touched Akila. The she-wolf ran and ran, but when she looked back, the gray fur of her Alphess was lying motionless on the ground. Akila's heart raced. She was the next Alphess. I can't take over just yet! I've just became the Beta, she argued with herself, but shook her head and murmured aloud, "No. This is my pack now. I'll protect them with my life."
One late winter day, when the pack had settled down once again, and Akila had finally adjusted to the Alphess role, the Lead Warrior, Nitro, challenged the Alpha. Nitro won the fight and took over as Alpha from then on.
1 Year Later~
Akila wrapped herself around three pups, one jet black male, one tawny female, and one solid white female. She looked up at Nitro and nuzzled him happily. "They're beautiful."
The third raid of her life took place 6 months after her pup's birth. She was just about to send a hunting group when Nitro signaled to escape. The tawny female pup was trampled to death, the jet black male was shot. Tears welled in Akila's eyes as a bullet collided with Nitro as he dove for the white female. The pup was crushed under Nitro's weight. Akila turned away from the murder scene and howled for her pack to follow.
Current Time~
Akila padded out of the den and stretched her limbs. Her gaze swept over the den site and she swiveled her ears, her morning routine. The she-wolf had learned to listen and watch for any signs of danger. She swore that she would one day find a place that no human could reach. One that no human could take the lives of her pack. Her gaze locked on Soldado and she leaped down from an outcropping rock. "Soldado. Take two more warriors and hunt. I'll cover the territory sweep today." ((Sorry for the lots of reading. I just felt the need to explain her past better.))

3 & 1/2 years earlier "Go! Go! Go!" The words echoed through the thick air as wolves scattered throughout the forest. Soldado's ears pinned back to his head, tucked his tail beneath his legs and backed up a few steps hoping to escape the large mass of confusion and wolves. "Daddy!" His words came out as a whimper, as his voice was drowned out by the barks and whimpers of wolves. Soldado hopped backwards, as a familiar male wolf dropped to the ground before him, it was their alpha. Soldado's eyes widened and he backed away, the tiny pup's tail tucked between his legs. A sudden blow to his side, sent him through the air and rolling to a stop on the ground. He looked up to see a wolf, that had leaped over the many dead bodies to escape the monsters, it had hit him as it landed but seemed to care non and kept running. Soldado pulled his head close, hoping to escape the madness before him when he was snatched up from the ground, the familiar scent of his father filling his nose. Thorn, his father, shot through the forest, carrying the small pup, his jet black fur becoming almost a blur as he ran to escape the madness.
As the pack mourned for the loss of their prized alpha, Soldado crawled slowly over to Akila, another small pup he knew quite well, the alpha's daughter. He nudged her softly and slowly sat beside her before digging his head into her thin fur and sighing. "I'm sorry" He whispered. 2 years later Soldado had grown large over the years, his jet black fur much like his father's who had passed over the years. He was now alone in the world except for Akila, the closest thing he had to family was her. She was only his friend, but the only one he had. As he sniffed the fresh morning air, a warning howl shot out and he looked down just in time to see Akila run by as their treasured alphess fell to the ground, flashes of the scene just years before filled his head. Talon had been sprawled out before him, bloody and motionless. Soldado shook his head of the thoughts and leaped down grabbing a small pup below him before running after the new alphess. 1 year later Soldado had grown accustom to the new life in the pack, Akila was now alphess and rarely had any time for him, so he had lost his one and only friend. Nitro had become alpha and they had had three pups. Soldado watched over the pups when he could or when the alpha's couldn't. He looked up at the horizon and slowly stood as figures headed towards them. "Nitro" He whispered and motioned over to the figures. Nitro gave out the signal and the wolves took off. Soldado leaped down from his perch and ran towards Akila, just as he made it to her, Nitro fell to the ground, taking his last pups life. Soldado looked down at the bodies, his eyes wide. "Akila, let's go!" He yelled turning and pushing her away from the scene. Current Time The words of the alphess reached his ears as the male slowly stood and shook his fur. "Yes Alphess" He said. Turning, he motioned for two of the older male hunters to follow him. He leaped over the small creek that lies at the edge of their dens and entered the thicker part of the forest.

((It's fine. I'll rp in a minute. I'm in the mcdonalds gettin a frappe. Lol my phone's about dead too. And I might edit Akila's application when I get home.))((Sorry it took me so long to reply.)) Akila nodded, but turned away and sighed, "Alphess." She spoke softly, careful not to let anyone overhear. "If it weren't for those humans, I wouldn't be 'Alphess.' I'd probably even have enough time to spend with Soldado." She sighed and flicked her tail, bringing two warriors to her side. "I want every part of the forest within two miles searched. Take as many warriors as you need. If you find the slightest human scent, mark, or object found, report to me immediately." With another flick of her tail, the wolves were off. She climbed on the outcropping rock and sat down, watching her pack start to stir.

As the trees passed the three in a large mixture of black and green blurs, the two wolves Came to a stop as they caught up with Soldado. With a flick of his tail, the two came to a silent stop beside him as he stared forward at the seemingly empty landscape ahead. "Soldado, nothings the-" "Shhh" Soldado interrupted one of the males with a hushing noise and a glare. He turned ahead and crouched low before crawling forward silently. He disappeared into the brush. After a few silent moments, screeching was heard before Soldado re-appeared with a large boar being drug behind him. The two wolves grabbed it and within minutes they were back at the pack. Soldado watched as the pack gathered around taking their share, while he trotted up towards his lookout and hopped onto it before laying down. He ate nothing but instead just watched silently.

Akila nodded to the lead hunter, "Very well done, Soldado. You seem to get back faster each time." She looked at where the territory patrol had went before speaking again, "I sent out a patrol. Their scanning a radius of two miles within the den site. They probably won't be back for at least two days. From now until then, I can lead the warrior patrols, and you'll assign the hunting patrols. Unless you want the warrior patrols and I'll take the hunting. It doesn't matter as long as it gets done." The she-wolf had refused to take another mate, so there was no alpha. She led the pack alone, taking up the responsibility of two alphas, some of the reason she was so stressed to get everything done.

Akila flicked her tail towards the ground, "No no, sit. You have already brought in enough for the pack. We don't need to stuff ourselves until we can't move or don't want to do anything." The white she-wolf looked down at the pack and sighed, "I fear the territory patrol will bring grave news."

Soldado froze, his ears went back as his eyes swiveled back towards the alphess. He turned his head to look at her, "I have been noticing many dead carcasses around the area, gun shot wounds were on most.." His voice trailed off.

Akila stiffened. Her gaze shot out across the forest. "And you didn't tell me before now?" Her ears swiveled around, trying to pick up sounds of humans or the patrol returning. Looking at the male, she whispered, "I have to find the patrol. Soldado, you're the only one I've trusted to do this since Nitro died. I want you to lead the pack somewhere safe. If I don't come back, you will take over."

Soldado's eyes widened and without a thought, he leaped forward, taking the alphess down. "No!" He whispered harshly. "Just..calm down" He softened his whisper. "I...took care of it...I killed them and hid the body" He whispered only to her.

Akila yelped in surprise as she was taken down. As Soldado whispered to her, her gaze shifted over to the whispering and staring wolves. She faked a smile and pushed Soldado away. "Oh stop." She giggled and turned her back to the pack and entered her den, whispering "Come in my den. Now." as she passed the lead hunter.
She wheeled around and sat down. "How many were there? Did they have guns? Which way were they going? Did any get away." Her muscles tensed at each question.

Soldado eyed Akila before following after her. He tilted his head in a confused way and listened. "There were 2,..They had rifles. They were going towards the old den site, to close to us for comfort. No I killed them both.."

Akila sighed in relief and pushed her nose into Soldado's fur, "Thank you." She pulled back and looked out of her den, "It's a shame that the prey will be wasted. Were there any freshly killed?" She shook her head, "No. The humans would have taken it back with them. They've probably set that out as bait. To kill us all."

"They are murderers. They would have killed our loved ones." Akila sighed and stared at the ground. "Would you rather lose your family?" Her teary eyes shot up as the thoughts of her father, her siblings, her pups, her mate, her pack, collapsing to the ground entered her mind.

Soldado's eyes flickered up at the sound of the she-wolf's voice shaking. His ears went back and he looked down as though being scolded. "No, I wouldn't. I apologize Alphess. I will secure the area once more before reporting back to you." He stood and walked by her, exiting the den.

"Good." Akila whispered as Soldado walked past. She followed him out of the den and walked out on the outcropping rock. She howled for a meeting to start. When all the wolves had gathered below, she took a deep breath and began, "I have sent a territory patrol out. They will search for any signs of a human raid. I have already been informed of human contact with the prey. If any of you see carcasses lying around, do NOT bring them back or eat them. They could be poisoned. If the patrol comes back with evidence that humans are near, we must be prepared to move."

The black male made his way through the thick forest area, the air filling his nose as she scented for any signs of humans. He paused and looked down as he caught scent of the enemy. Footprints crossed his path. He turned, slowly following the path, the scent growing stronger. He froze, looking up as feet came into view. He looked up, a large male human looking down at him. He wore a brown covered suit, it blended well with the forest. He had a large rifle in hand. Soldado growled, leaping forward towards him. He raised his gun, handle pointing towards the wolf. He rammed Soldado with the gun. The wolf fell to the ground, a large gash across is temple. He looked up, blood dripping down his head. He leaped once more with a growl. Knocking the human down. He ran over the human and towards the pack.As he neared the pack, he howled. "Run! They are coming"

Akila perked her ears and howled the signal. "Go! Go! Go!" It seemed like a tradition to howl those words. She leaped down from the rock and looked at Soldado, "Take them. Far away. Keep them safe, Soldado." Her eyes pleaded him not to stop and ask questions. She looked back and darted towards the hunters, nipping their limbs and tearing off away from the way the pack had come. She looked back to see a hunter pointing the rifle straight at her. Akila braced herself and leaped behind a tree. The bullet ricocheted off of a large rock and hit the man. Akila watched as the man fell to the ground. She stood dumbfounded. Out of the 4 raids, she had been so near death, but death had never come.

Soldado, slowed to a stop and nodded at the female before turning and racing through the crowd of wolves and bullets. He slowed to a stop as the world became blurry around him. More hot blood dripped down his head. He stumbled and looked around. Wolves raced past him, ramming into him. He whimpered slightly as he looked around. The world became slow, as though it was all in slow motion. Wolves ran down the hillside towards the valley. The y leaped down from rocks, avoiding the bullets. He watched as a female he had seen every once in a while, leaped from a large rock only to bit hit by a bullet, she flew to the ground and lay still. Soldado took a step back, the world speeding up once more. He looked around, trying to make out the way, the world was blurry and he stumbled. Finally, he dropped to the ground, his head pounding as warm blood dripped down his head. Finally, the world went dark.

Akila shook her head and sped back the way she had come. She made it just in time to see Soldado fall. She shook her head and howled, "No!" She ran to him and pressed her nose into his fur. "Soldado!" She gripped his scruff and pulled him into her den. She looked out to see humans running the way the pack had went. With one last glance at Soldado, she whispered into his ear. "I'm sorry. It was my fault." She leaped out of the den and raced through the forest after the pack.
Once she had caught up with them, she howled for them to follow, and she circled around and picked up a small brown pup that was lagging behind. She ran through the center of the pack and barked, "Keep up."
